For most dogs a pig ear goes quickest, a cow ear takes a bit longer and a bully stick lasts longest. On a large breed the gap is wider. We sell pig ears only.
Are they suitable for a dog with a sensitive stomach?
Pig ears are high in fat, so they may not suit a dog with a sensitive stomach. Your vet is the right person to ask about your own dog.

There is a lot of variation in pig ears and almost none of it is on the label. The two things worth checking are what has been done to the ear, and how big it actually is.
On processing: an ear that has been smoked, basted or flavoured has stopped being a single ingredient. These are dried and nothing else, then irradiated, then a random sample from a lot goes to an outside laboratory and is tested for salmonella, coliform, yeast and mould. That last step is the one almost nobody publishes, and it is the one worth asking a supplier about.
On size: whole ear and half ear are both sold as pig ears, and thin ears from small pigs get bagged up with the rest. These are whole, hand sorted and thick cut, averaging about 39 grams. A thicker ear lasts longer, which is what you are buying.
How long one lasts depends on the dog more than the ear. A small dog, under about 20 lb, will usually be 30 to 45 minutes with one. A determined chewer will be much quicker.
