Who the controller is
Pig Ears Company UK, a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd, is the controller for personal data collected through pigears.co.uk. You can reach us at theteam@customersupport.care.
What we collect, and why
- When you order: your name, delivery address, email address and what you bought. We need this to take payment, send the parcel and deal with returns. The legal basis is performance of the contract.
- When you email us: whatever you put in the email, so we can answer it.
- When you use the site: analytics, but only if you accept them in the cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it from the cookie settings link in the footer.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to profile you.
Payment details
Card payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal payments by PayPal. Your card number never reaches this site and is never stored by us. Those companies are separate controllers for the payment data they hold.
Who else sees your data
- The courier, which needs your name and address to deliver the parcel.
- Our email provider, which sends the order confirmation and the tracking email.
- Our hosting and order-recording providers, which store the order record.
Some of these process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer relies on the UK international data transfer agreement or an adequacy decision.
Cookies
The site sets one cookie to remember your cookie choice and, if you accept, analytics cookies. Your basket is kept in your own browser's local storage, not on our servers. See the cookie policy.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, because tax law requires it. Emails are kept for two years. Analytics data is kept for the period set in the analytics account and is not linked to your order.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, ask for it in a portable format, and object to processing. Email theteam@customersupport.care and we will answer within one month.
If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
